Copyright and takedown notices
Ranger Wild is a hosting platform. Each wildlife centre uploads its own content — photos, descriptions, events, offers. We don’t review that content before it goes live.
If you believe content on Ranger Wild infringes your copyright or other rights, email us using the form below. We take notices seriously, review them within 48 hours, and remove or respond to legitimate ones within 72 hours.
1. How to send a notice
Email hello@rangerwild.com with the subject line “Copyright notice” and include:
- Your name, and your contact email + phone number.
- A description of the work that you say has been infringed (what the photo is of, who took it, when, where it’s been published before).
- The specific URL(s) on Ranger Wild where the content appears (e.g. the exact species page, event page, or news story).
- Evidence of ownership — a copyright registration, a published version of the work credited to you, a watermark, metadata, or a sworn statement explaining why you’re the owner.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use isn’t authorised.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf.
Notices without enough information to act on will be returned with a request for the missing pieces.
2. What we do when we receive a notice
- Within 48 hours of receiving a complete notice, we review it and let you know we’re on it.
- If we decide the notice is valid, we remove the content from the app and let the centre know within 72 hours of the notice.
- If we decide it isn’t valid, we tell you why.
- The centre has a right of reply — they can give us their reason for believing they do have rights to the content. If their reply is persuasive, we may restore the content and let you know.
If the centre keeps posting the same disputed content after a valid notice, we may limit or suspend their access to the admin.
3. Bad-faith notices
Deliberately false or misleading takedown notices waste everyone’s time. We reserve the right to decline to act on repeat false notices from the same complainant.
4. Not the right form?
- To report a privacy breach (someone’s personal info exposed): email hello@rangerwild.com with subject “Privacy”.
- To report a safety concern (an animal appears to be at risk, content is harmful): email hello@rangerwild.com with subject “Urgent safety concern”.
- For anything else: hello@rangerwild.com.
