Terms of Use
Last updated: 17 October 2026
Ranger Wild is a service that helps small UK wildlife attractions share what’s going on at their centre, and helps visitors discover what to see when they’re there. It’s published and operated by Phil Gillett, in England.
By using the Ranger Wild mobile app, or by managing a centre on The Ranger Station (station.rangerwild.com), you agree to these terms.
1. What Ranger Wild is
A hosting platform. Each wildlife centre decides what to put on its own page in the app — photos, species info, event dates, offers, news. Ranger doesn’t choose, review, approve, or endorse what centres upload. We provide the tools; the centres provide the content.
2. Centre content
Centres own the content they upload — their photos, their words, their logo. They give us permission to host it, display it to visitors, and keep backup copies. They can delete anything they’ve uploaded at any time.
Each centre is responsible for making sure they have the right to upload what they upload — that they own the photos, or have permission to use them, or that the content is theirs to share. If a photo or anything else turns out to breach someone’s rights, see our Copyright and takedown page for how to let us know; we’ll act promptly.
3. Visitor content
Visitors can’t post public content on Ranger Wild. The only thing a visitor submits is a name and party size when registering for an event at a centre, and that’s seen only by the centre, not by other visitors.
4. Rules for using the app
- Don’t upload content you don’t have the right to upload.
- Don’t upload anything illegal, defamatory, or that would reasonably be seen as hateful or harmful.
- Don’t try to break the app or get at other centres’ data.
- Don’t impersonate someone else, or set up a centre you’re not authorised to run.
- Don’t scrape the app for bulk data.
If a centre or visitor breaks these rules we may remove content, suspend access, or close the account.
5. Availability
The service is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it up and the data safe, but we don’t make guarantees about uptime, feature availability, or that any specific feature will exist in the future. If we need to take the service down for maintenance we’ll give notice where we can.
6. If something goes wrong
To the extent allowed by English law, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost business opportunities that arise from using Ranger Wild. For anything we are liable for, our total liability to any one user in any 12-month period is limited to £100.
Nothing in these terms limits liability we’re not allowed to limit — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
7. Changes to these terms
If we change anything material we’ll give notice through the app and the Ranger Station admin. The current version always lives at station.rangerwild.com/legal/terms. Significant changes get a date update at the top.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are heard in the courts of England and Wales.
9. Contact
hello@rangerwild.com for anything general. See the other legal pages for privacy and copyright contacts.
